An example of submitting an application to the registry office. Submitting an application to the registry office for marriage registration

To get married, the conditions contained in the Family Code of the Russian Federation and the Law “On Acts of Civil Status” dated November 15, 1997 No. 143-FZ (hereinafter referred to as Law No. 143-FZ) must be met. These include:

  • the presence of consent of both parties entering into marriage;
  • voluntary action;
  • their reaching adulthood;
  • the absence of close family ties between the applicants, as well as the fact of adoption by one applicant of another;
  • absence of other marriages registered in the registry office (polygamy and polyandry are prohibited in the Russian Federation);
  • the legal capacity of the applicants (none of them were subject to a decision to deprive them of their legal capacity).

If the future husband and/or wife is 16-17 years old, then to get married they must obtain permission from the municipality at their place of residence (clause 2 of article 13 of the RF IC). The exception is the situation of emancipation.

The legislation does not contain any other conditions for marriage.

How to submit an application to the registry office for marriage registration. Can I apply online?

Application according to Art. 24 of Law No. 143-FZ is the basis for registering a marriage.

Individuals intending to become spouses must submit an application to the registry office for marriage registration in person. You cannot entrust this to other persons by proxy.

There are 2 options for submitting an application to the registry office:

  • Together.
  • Separate statements. In this case, a person who was unable to come to the registry office must have his signature on the application certified by a notary. If the applicant is in custody or serving a sentence of imprisonment, then the signature on the application is certified by the heads of the institutions where the applicant is located. A separate application submitted through the public services portal is not certified by a notary.

Future spouses can apply for marriage registration services in one of 3 ways:

  1. Directly to the Civil Registry Office, to any of its departments throughout the Russian Federation at the choice of the applicants (Article 25 of Law No. 143-FZ).
  2. In the MFC according to the general rules established by the law “On the organization of provision...” dated July 27, 2010 No. 210-FZ.
  3. Through the State Services portal (online).

A special feature of submitting an application to the registry office for marriage registration online, through “State Services”, is that payment of the state fee occurs electronically, in parallel with filling out the document, and the application itself is signed with the electronic signatures of the future spouses.

Sample application for marriage: Form 7

The application to the registry office for marriage registration has Form 7 established by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated October 31, 1998 No. 1274. It states the following:

  1. The fact that those entering into marriage do this voluntarily and they have no obstacles to this, i.e. all the conditions for marriage are met.
  2. Full names of applicants, dates of birth, number of completed years.
  3. Residence address.
  4. Passport details.
  5. Citizenship, marital status.
  6. At the request of applicants, their nationality, education, and information about common children are indicated.
  7. The surnames that the spouses will have after marriage.
  8. Date of application, signatures of applicants.

Documents attached to the application for marriage registration

In para. 4 paragraphs 1 art. 26 of Law No. 143-FZ states what is presented to the registry office along with the application:

  1. Passports of future spouses.
  2. Divorce certificate, if available. Moreover, if the actions to dissolve a previous marriage and register a new one are carried out in the same registry office, the certificate does not need to be presented.
  3. Permission from authorized bodies to enter into marriage if the bride or groom has not reached the age of majority.

If these documents were sent electronically, then they are submitted in paper form on the day of marriage registration, appointed by the registry office.

An adult man and woman jointly apply to the registry office for marriage registration, subject to a number of conditions established by the legislator.

The application has a prescribed form; it can be submitted in person to the civil registry office, through the MFC or on the government services portal.

For many who want to tie the knot with a loved one, it is necessary to remember that a wedding is not only a very pleasant and joyful moment, but also a documentation of many formalities. Initially, you need to fill out an application for marriage. But in order for employees to accept it for consideration (you can find out about it on our website), you must fill out the document correctly.

How to fill it out correctly

The sample marriage application consists of two sheets of size A 4. All entered data must be truthful. Under no circumstances should you provide false documents. Such an act may entail not only a fine, but also criminal liability.

An application for marriage registration must be filled out by two people: the bride and groom themselves, that is, individuals who have decided to start a family. Therefore, when filling out the presence of two newlyweds is mandatory. The current legislation provides. But this must be a very special case, with very good reasons for the absence of one of the lovers. At the same time, you need to understand that it will not be possible to fill out for your partner. This is illegal and such a document will not be accepted for consideration.

Two people who decide to get married fill out a form, which is presented on one piece of paper. One part is allocated for the groom's information, and the second is intended to be filled out by the bride.

  • The marriage application form begins to be filled out from the upper right corner. In this place it is necessary to indicate the estimated date of the celebration and its main participants, that is, the bride and groom. But don’t rush to set a specific date when filling it out. Initially, you need to consult with the registry office staff regarding a free day when you can sign. After all, unfortunately, the chosen date does not always remain unoccupied, especially during the peak period of wedding celebrations.
  • After looking at the registration book, the registry office employee will suggest several days when it will be possible to carry out the wedding celebration. Only after agreeing on the date with the registry office employee should you begin filling out the application.
  • Next, you will need to fill out (in the header below) from whom the application was accepted. It must be filled out in the genitive case (for example: Alexey Ivanovich Ivanov). The application must be accepted from two people: the prospective groom and the bride.
  • Below are the questions in the questionnaire form, which is indirectly divided into three columns. The first column is the name of the data that needs to be filled in. The second column is filled in by the groom, and the third, respectively, by the bride.

The marriage application consists of eight points that must be completed. If at least one item remains unfilled, the application will not be accepted for consideration.

The main points are:

  1. First. You will need to fill out your first name, last name and patronymic according to your internal identity passport. The data is filled in completely. All initials are written with a capital letter.
  2. The second column is dedicated to the date of birth. You need to fill in the number with a number, and the month with letters (for example: August 21). The year is also written with license plates. Also in this column you will need to indicate how many years of age the applicants were at the time of submitting the document.
  3. In the third column you will need to indicate the full name of the place of birth (region, city or locality).
  4. The fourth paragraph specifies the citizenship of persons (for example: citizen of the Russian Federation).
  5. The fifth point involves filling in the nationality. Although the registry office employees do not require it to be filled out, it is still worth indicating your nationality in order to avoid misunderstandings. Nationality does not always have to be akin to citizenship. This must be remembered and you should not be afraid of this point.
  6. In paragraph number six, you must indicate your actual place of residence (not registration, but residence). You should start filling out from the city or region (in the case of populated areas).
  7. The seventh column is filled out strictly according to passport data. It is necessary to indicate: passport of which country, by whom it was issued, when, series number and date of issue. It is important to remember that even one mistake made makes the paper invalid.
  8. In the last paragraph, you will need to provide documents confirming the termination of your previous marriage. Such documents can be a certificate of death or divorce. You must indicate the name of the document and its number. If there were no previous marriages, you need to write: “Absent. Marriage is primary."

Particular attention should be paid to the last bottom lines. Their essence is what surname will be assigned to the spouse after the official marriage. It is necessary to enter opposite the column: “husband”, “wife” the last name that will be assigned after the relationship is formalized in a legal manner.

Not only a woman has the right to take her husband’s surname, but vice versa.

At the very end, the lovers must sign: on the right side for the groom, on the left for the bride. The date of completion is indicated in the lower left corner (for example: August 1, 2015)

After filling out all the fields, the lovers give their passports and application for verification to the registry office employee. The authorized person checks the data and puts the date of acceptance of the document for consideration and her signature in the upper left corner.

At this stage, the procedure is considered completed.

Errors when filling out

Many young people often make very primitive mistakes in filling out forms. One of them is incorrectly specified passport data (series number, date of issue, authority that issued the document). Even one wrong letter or license plate can invalidate the document.

Another very common mistake is that many people fill out their registration address in column number six. But you must indicate the address of your actual residence (even if you are not registered there).

If it is the first marriage and there are no documents confirming the existence of a previous marriage, you should not write missing. It is enough to indicate that the marriage is primary.

Key Features

According to the law, at least thirty days must pass after submitting documents (here). And only after this period can one count on the legal formalization of the relationship. But, as we know in practice, one month is not enough, so it is better to apply before the expected wedding.

The process can be accelerated only with the help of medical certificates confirming one of the cases such as:

  1. The bride is pregnant.
  2. The presence of a serious illness that can lead to death.

Also, if people have a child together, they have the right to demand that the relationship be formalized in the coming days.

Conclusion

Filling out an application for marriage registration is only the first step towards a festive celebration. Don't be afraid of these formalities. After all, in principle, there is nothing complicated about this and anyone can do it. But the main thing is that after submitting an application to the registry office, you can begin preparing for the wedding.

The first step towards officially starting a family is a visit to the registry office. Two lovers need to apply for marriage. Like any official document, it is filled out according to established rules, failure to comply with which will be grounds for refusal to accept it.

The application for registration is written according to Form No. 7 established by the Ministry of Justice. The rules for filling it out will not be difficult, but there are a number of features that need to be paid attention to.

How to correctly fill out a marriage application form 7

The application is a two-page questionnaire in which you need to enter information about the future spouses. First of all, information about where the couple is going to register their relationship is filled in in the upper right corner.

You can get married in any department on the territory of the Russian Federation, and not just in the one that serves the area where the bride and groom live.

But to avoid misunderstandings, if you choose a department located outside your place of registration, it is better to call them and find out if there will be any obstacles on their part. Next in the header the last name, first name and patronymic of each applicant are indicated.

When writing your full name The nominative case is used. All data is written in full, without abbreviations. Next, fill out the questionnaire table. It consists of three columns. The first contains instructions on what information needs to be entered.

The second is reserved for information about the groom, the third is filled out by the bride. All personal data is transferred from the passport, even if it does not correspond to the actual circumstances. The first three lines are reserved for the last name, first name, and patronymic of the future spouses.

The presence of a patronymic is not typical for all peoples inhabiting our large country, therefore, if it is absent, the line with the patronymic remains blank.

Bearers of complex or unusual surnames should clarify the pronunciation of the surname with a civil registry office employee just before the wedding ceremony. Otherwise, embarrassment due to incorrect reading or placement of emphasis cannot be ruled out.

In the fourth line you must enter: date and year - in numbers, month - in letters. The name of the month is indicated in the genitive case.

The fifth line indicates the address of the place of birth, which is recorded in the passport. Sometimes this address differs from the real place of birth, but this is not important when submitting an application to the registry office. The nationality of each applicant must be indicated in the sixth term.

This information is especially important if one of the lovers is a foreigner. Not all civil registry offices have the authority to register marriages involving foreign citizens.. This nuance needs to be clarified in the selected department.

The following lines about nationality and education are optional and are completed at the request of applicants. As a rule, registry office employees do not insist that this information be entered. This information is collected for statistics.

Next, in the ninth line, you should fill in information about your place of residence. You need to start with the name of the state, then indicate the region, municipal district, locality, street, house, apartment. The addresses at which the bride and groom are registered are indicated, even if they do not actually live there.

The tenth line is reserved for the details of the identity document. In this case we mean a passport. The series, number, and the name of the authority that issued the passport and the date of its issue are entered in the appropriate columns.

In the penultimate line you need to mark the current one. If this is not the first official relationship for one of the partners, then in the last line you need to enter the details of the document that was the basis for the dissolution of the previous marriage.

Information about common children is also indicated at the discretion of the applicants. The number is written in words. If there are no common children, then the corresponding column is filled in with the word “no”.

The question of the future surname of the spouses is very often a fundamental one. Future newlyweds should discuss this issue in advance.

The following options exist:

  • the surname can be taken of both husband and wife;
  • it is not forbidden to keep old surnames;
  • There is also the possibility of forming a new one by hyphenating the surnames that people had before marriage.

When filling out the application, you need to be extremely careful, because any mistake or typo will force you to fill out the application in a new way.

The marriage registration procedure is subject to a state fee. After payment, the bank will issue a receipt, which must be attached to the application. If necessary, other documents must be submitted along with the application.

Where can I get a blank form?

In order to fill out the form, you must first find it somewhere. In this information age, the easiest way is to find a blank template on the Internet. A huge number of websites will provide you with application forms.

You need to be careful, you can download an outdated form that the registry office will not accept. The electronic form has the advantage that it can be filled out on a computer. Typos and errors can be edited directly in the electronic version.

You don't have to fill out the entire document again, as if it were a paper form. After a thorough check, the application is printed, signed and submitted to the registry office.

If you have doubts about the relevance of the form or have any problems filling it out, you can come to an appointment directly at the registry office. They will give you a blank form and tell you how to fill it out.

It’s better to ask for a couple at once, because you may not be able to fill it out without errors the first time, and documents with corrections will not be accepted. But, as a rule, employees fill out the applications themselves, and young people just have to check everything carefully and sign.

The first option seems to be the most convenient, as it allows you to slowly fill out an application in the comfort of your own home. Not everyone will feel comfortable in the office of a civil registry office employee.

Sample of a completed joint application for marriage

If you decide to fill out the application yourself, study the example provided. Please note that the information in the upper left corner and the top hats the application remains unfilled.

After the registry office employee accepts the application, he will put it in the right place, agreed upon with the bride and groom.

After the marriage procedure, the number of the marriage certificate will be entered in the column provided for this purpose.

Rules for filling out the form electronically

The twenty-first century allows you to apply online from the comfort of your home. The State Services portal will help with this.

This procedure has a number of features. The bride and groom must each have an account on the portal. First, they fill out the application separately, each in their own personal account.

Then the joint application is sent to the selected civil registry office. If everything is done correctly, all that remains is to appear at the appointed time at the registration authority and receive a marriage registration certificate.

It is worth noting that submitting an application remotely is not yet possible in all regions. If this option is interesting, then you need to make sure that this opportunity exists in your place of residence.

Key points to remember when filling out the application:

  • The most convenient way is to download the document in electronic format, fill it out, check it and then print it;
  • When writing names in the application, only the nominative case is used;
  • all personal data is entered in strict accordance with the passport data;
  • information that may not be indicated: nationality, level of education, number of children together;
  • Not only the husband’s surname can be used as a future family surname;
  • It is possible to submit an application through government services, but, unfortunately, not in all regions.

An application for marriage registration can be submitted in three ways:

  1. Traditionally, contact the nearest regional registry office.
  2. Electronically through the State Services website, if the newlyweds have the opportunity to verify their expression of will with an electronic signature.
  3. Through an MFC specialist.

Regardless of which method you choose, you will need to appear at the regional registry office on the date and time appointed for registering the marriage, otherwise the wedding will not take place.

The registry office can invite newlyweds in advance, a day or two before the chosen date. You need to show up with your passports; this procedure is necessary to obtain a marriage certificate if the registration is solemn.

It is worth noting that since both citizens are present at the same time, the form is filled out in a single copy.

The application form is standard and consists of the header of the form, which indicates the date and scheduled time of the upcoming ceremony, the name of the registry office department, the last name, first name and patronymic of the bride and groom, and the application itself. Let us examine the points of the statement in detail.

It consists of eight points:

  • Point one. Last name, first name and patronymic of the bride and groom.
  • Point two. Date of birth and age of the spouses at the time of the appointed marriage registration
  • Point three. Place of Birth. The column is filled out strictly in accordance with the passport data.
  • Point four. Citizenship of newlyweds.
  • Point five. Nationality. It should be noted that this part of the form is filled out by the spouses at will and is not mandatory.
  • Point six. Location. The address of your actual residence is entered in the column, regardless of registration.
  • Point seven. Identity document (passport or military ID). The series of the document and its number are entered in the column, as well as information about when, where and by what authority it was issued.
  • Point eight. A document confirming the termination of a previous marriage, if the newlyweds were previously married (divorce certificate or death certificate of the previous spouse). If both are getting married for the first time, there is no need to fill out the column.

At the bottom of the application, the surname chosen by the newlyweds is indicated. This can be either the surname of the husband or the wife. If the bride and groom do not want to change their surname after the wedding, then this is also quite acceptable.

After checking the application, the authorized employee certifies the entered data with his signature.

The multifunctional center employee also has sample applications. You can download a blank form from our website and practice filling it out at home in a calm and pleasant environment.

Common mistakes when filling out an application

To avoid common mistakes when filling out an application for an upcoming marriage, you should carefully fill out the application. You can download a ready-made form and fill it out at home or just practice, saving your time and the time of the registry office employees.

So, what you need to pay attention to when filling out the marriage registration form:

  • Carefully and legibly fill out the application, especially paragraph 7, where the number and series of the passport are indicated; here it is important to enter data that strictly corresponds to the passport data; no abbreviations are allowed.
  • Please note: if your data contains the letters ё or й, their distortion is not allowed; enter the data strictly according to your passport.
  • The bride and groom fill out the application themselves, each with the part that concerns them. It is unacceptable to fill out an application for each other.
  • Do not forget that the age indicated in the second column must correspond to the age at the time of the designated registration.
  • When signing the application, use your maiden name.
  • The application is signed only in the presence of a registry office specialist.

Conclusion

Let's summarize.

So, when filling out an application for marriage registration, the newlyweds confirm:

  • Your data.
  • Your voluntary desire to start a family.
  • Absence of grounds that may prevent marriage.
  • Select the desired surname after registration.

Before you go to submit an application to the registry office, do not forget to take the following documents with you:

  • Passports of both newlyweds.
  • A receipt for payment of the state duty (one payment is enough for both spouses, there is no need to pay for each separately).
  • Divorce certificate, if one or both citizens wishing to start a family were previously married.

Details for paying the state fee must be obtained in advance from the regional registry office to which you plan to submit the application.

It is also better to decide in advance on the date of the upcoming wedding. In the summer, there are usually more people who want to formalize their relationship, so be prepared for the fact that there will not be a place on the chosen date. It is better to play through several date options or apply in advance. Probably everyone knows that the application must be submitted at least a month before the planned date.

The law provides an exception only to those couples who have compelling reasons for early registration:

  • If the bride is pregnant. In this case, the couple must provide, in addition to the main package of documents, a certificate from the antenatal clinic about the duration of pregnancy.
  • If one of the newlyweds is terminally ill and as a result of the illness a quick death is possible. In this case, a certificate of illness is also attached to the application.
  • If the couple has common minor children, then their birth certificates must be attached.
